With six brothers in the Benelli family, it is understandable that conflicts arose. As a result, Giuseppe Benelli founded his own company in 1950. Initially, 98 cc and 115 cc engines were developed. Even these early engines featured the horizontal cylinder design. Giuseppe Benelli died in 1957 and his sons Luigi and Marco took over the business. In the early 1960s, it became apparent that the company was in financial difficulty. The final straw was the integration of the Motobi-Benelli factory into the de Tomaso group of companies. The development of our Imperial dates back to 1956. Our Imperial is in very good condition and runs perfectly.
